FASTPITCH BUYING GUIDE · UPDATED OCT 28, 2026
Best 8U Fastpitch Softball Bats
For 8U players (ages 7–8), most players swing a drop -11 to -13 bat between 26–29 inches. A lighter drop (bigger number) is easier to control and usually the better pick for a player who is still building bat speed.
Below are current bats that come in those sizes, ranked by published scores. Each one links to its full specs and current prices. Not sure of the size? The Fitting Room sizes a player by height, weight and age.
Fastpitch leagues certify bats through USA Softball, USSSA, NSA and others. Check each bat's stamps against your league's approved-bat list before you buy.
