BASEBALL BUYING GUIDE · UPDATED OCT 28, 2026

Best Baseball Bats for 12- and 13-Year-Olds

For players moving to the bigger field (ages 12–13), most players swing a drop -8 to -10 bat between 29–32 inches. A lighter drop (bigger number) is easier to control and usually the better pick for a player who is still building bat speed.

Below are current bats that come in those sizes, ranked by published scores. Each one links to its full specs and current prices. Not sure of the size? The Fitting Room sizes a player by height, weight and age.

Little League, Cal Ripken, PONY, Babe Ruth and AABC require the USA Baseball stamp for players 14 and under. Every bat on this page carries it.
